Your region bylaws chair will reach out ~3 months prior to your bylaws renewal date and can supply you with a condensed list of your prior bylaws elections for review.
Most teams have not participated in bylaws renewal before so here is a quick rundown of the process.
● Bylaws must be renewed every 3 years, or when changes are desired by your membership.
● Bylaws Committee appointed by executive committee.
● No specific number of committee members required, but GVPTA recommends a minimum of 2 board members and 1 general member.
● With 30 days notice, bylaws (with or without changes) may be adopted at any regular meeting by 2⁄3 vote of members present and voting.
● Bylaws are generated in the bylaws wizard and once approved by your membership, the cover page must include the adoption date, and be signed & submitted back to GVPTA.
Once your bylaws committee has submitted your changes for a vote, and your membership has approved them, you can use the bylaws tutorial and bylaws wizard to submit for approval. The region bylaws chair receives notification of submission and will lead you through the final approval steps.
